Okay this has happened to me twice now. My main drive is C:\ i had a
folder on the c: drive hidden. One day i tried to get to it by typing the
destination c:\folder, that would open it up usually but windows claimed it
could not find it. So I hit F10, unhide all files and folders and what do
you know, its missing. I thought I may have deleted it by mistake... now i
think otherwise.

As of yesterday I had 2 folders on the c: drive hidden status. tried to get
to them today and windows could not find them, I unhide everything and
windows is right the 2 folders are missing.

Anyone have any ideas on wth is going on. I have Vista Ultimate x64.

Okay it happened again this morning. This time I set it up. So i seem to be
able to replicate the problem. Any hidden folder on the main drive
c:\hiddenfolder seems to either disapear completely after a while or files
within it disapear.
This time is was only one video file that was obliterated...

please anyone help

I caused my self a big problem earlier this week. I had defrag set to
start at 3:00am every day!
(yea I know 1 a week is fine) But the system auto updated while defrag
was running and
then proceeded to auto restart thus messing up big time. I don't want
to talk about missing
files, I had them, but chkdsk recovered everything.
What I am getting at is check the stuff you have your system schedule
run while you are
away. Make certain that you do not have a conflict while defrag or any
other program that
can possible change the placement of files or directories, is running!
I've now rescheduled
everything so that defrag only starts running at 12:30am Sunday
mornings, and nothing else
ever trys to update anything at that time. Most of the stuff now
notifies me that a upgrade
is available before its downloaded.
