FILE ERROR message

I recently had a virus removed from my computer. On its
return the Epsom Perfection 1250 Photo Scanner was no
longer showing up on my control panel.

I attempted to re install it and I get the following:
FILE ERROR CANNOT FIND SHELL.DLL

This unfortunately means sbsolutley nothing to me. I have
been onto the Epsom technical help website only to be
told it is a Windows problem. I am on windows xp. My
Twain 5 files are still intact.

Can anybody tell me what to do please (in very simple
terms).

Try reinstalling the drivers/software that came with the Epson Scanner.
