File encoding

When I save a file in NotePad, there are four selections (ANSI, Unicode,
Unicode big endian & UTF-8) of encoding. Can someone advise the difference
in between.

Open NotePad, click Help, Help topics and you can scroll down the index which
will explain each selection. ANSI ( American National Standards Institute)
is the WindowsXP default setting. UTF8 is mainly used if you use Arabic
languages.
