File download warning??????

With XP Pro in a W2K domain. when I go to launch an application/exe, it
comes up with a File Download dialog box which says:

"Some files can harm your computer. If the file information below looks
suspicious, or you do not fully trust the source, do not open or save this
file."

It than give me the option to open or cancel. This phenomena seams to be
related to subnets, but does not appear to be totally predictable as far as
I can tell.

Doe any one know how I can get rid of this warning? I can't seam to find any
info on this, so I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thanks,

I get this warning everytime I download exe files from the Internet. I don't think there's a way to stop it, as Microsoft included it to cover themselves by telling people that some files can contain viruses and damage your computer.

I guess I did not explain this very well. I get this when I run a program on
a network (mapped) drive.

It makes sense to have this warring when downloading from the Internet, but
not when executing a program on a LAN.

Thanks.

Sorry I misunderstood your question. I'm at a lost at what to say. I would think you would get the same popup due to downloading a file even on a LAN, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks, I had a quick look at the KB but did not exactly understand the
implications. I will take a better look later.

Thanks.
