I had files which were encrypted and after reinstall new Win XP Pro, now i
have no access to those files. Anybody can help me to recover files?
Thanks for help
Sami

Hi Sami,

To recover encrypted files you need either the encryption certificate or a
recovery agent from the ORIGINAL installation. Without one of these, those
files are permanently lost to you and anyone else. One should not encrypt
without creating these a preventitive measure against disaster.

Are you sure they are encrypted, or are you just getting "access denied"?
This error is often just an ownership issue and can be resolved by taking
ownership of the files. If this is the case, please see this link on "taking
ownership" of a folder:

Do NOT encrypt files in the future.

If you have some friends at the NSA, they may be able to help you, but
then again there is no guarantee that even they will be able to break
the encryption. The encryption shipped with XP Pro is a high-level
very secure encryption.

Now you have learned there is easier ways to hide your porn
collection.
