file corruption/missing

My computer failed to boot, error messages were
displayed, file missing or corrupt
\windows\system32\config\system
and that i should repair the set up with the original
Set uo disk.
I have in my possetion the original cd that came with the
computer ( windows Xp professional), what do i do
plssssss. thanks for your anticipated coorporation.

you can boot with the cd
and perform a repair installtion
