File Copy to CD

When I back up files on a CD, the long file names become shortened. This
creates havoc with *.htm files since the pictures disappear. What can be
done about this? Is there any way for me to shorten the file name and
associated directory without destroying the file before I copy it to the
CD?

Hi,

1) Use CD burning software that supports ISO9660 mode2 instead of mode1
(mode2 supports LFN's, mode1 does not).

2) Either build the files with short names, or right-click/rename before
staging (but this may mess up any links between them).

Frankly, I would just get better CD burning software. If nothing else than
for just the functionality support.
