I have a new computer with Windows XP pre-loaded by the manufacturer. All was
fine for a few days but then at every start up a disc consistency check is
run on disc C. this runs OK and does not report any faults.
The disc is not dirty - I have checked using chkntfs.
Event viewer system log reports:-
ASP 132 service failed to start.
System cannot find the file specified.
Event ID 7000
Source Service Control manager.

What is ASP 132 ???

Can you help
Thanks Clive

Hi,

Click start/run and type services.msc, then click ok. See if you can locate
this asp132 service (asp.net?). If so, double click it, see what the path to
the executable is, then check that it actually exists. If it does not, look
at the dependency tab, see if anything else is relying on it. If not, try
disabling this service (or set to manual on startup).
