I need to get a list of all the Plug-ins that are loaded
on my machine. In earlier versions of IE (Before 5.0)
you could click HELP-->SUPPORT and get a list of the plug-
ins.

Is there a way to do this in IE 6.0 with WinXP Pro?

You tried typing PLUGINS into the search box of the Windows FIND tool?
Then click on the I.E. PLUGINS directory (folder).

Control panel---folder options--file type tab.

Yes, i have done this. However, the list created does
not represent all the file associations. For example I
know for a fact that Flash Player is installed on my
machine, but it doesn't appear in the search.

It used to be you could see all the file associations at
the same time and alter the ones that you wanted to, but
I can't seem to find that functinoality any longer.

Hi Marc - I suspect what you're really trying to get a handle on are what
are called Browser Helper Objects (BHO's). Get BHOCop here: BHO Cop
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,270,00.asp (Unfortunately, no longer
free from that link but you can read about it there, and here is a direct
download link for it: http://websec.arcady.fr/bhocop.zip) and take a look
at what BHO's are currently installed. Some things like AdShield and
Acrobat are normal, but if you see something that doesn't make any sense,
try disabling it and see if that helps. Another excellent program for this
same purpose is BHODemon, (still free) here:
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/ or here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/bhod/ I would recommend both. You can
also check/control BHO's using the Tools function of SpyBot S&D. Lastly, a
very useful utility for examining your system and correcting problems is
Hijack This, which you can download here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip It also will show
you your BHO's. See also, HijackThis Quick Start Help,
