file and settings transfer wizard questions

my older system is failing and i have anewwer unit. the old is xp pro, the
new is xp media center edition. can the transfer be made by connecting the
systems via usb cable? and are there any gottcha's going form pro to media
center?

Yes - you should be able to do that transfer *if* you are able to copy files
from one computer to another using it.
If not - then you don't have the proper setup for that. You could just
export your profile to an external USB device (drive, etc) and then use that
same device on the new machine.

A tip - use the FAST wizard from the Windows XP CD (doesn't matter which
one.. Just use the same one when exporting as you do when importing.)

Windows XP Media Center Edition is Windows XP Professional with a few
features (ability to join a domain) removed and a few things added (The
Media Center stuff..)
