file accociations

I have cocked-up a registry edit! I did not back-up first... tut tut tut!

when i click on a folder, it opens with explorer (folders down the left
side) i want to restore it to how it was, eg just opens a window showing
files.

on my right click it defaults to explore, there is open there, which is what
i want, but i cannot make it the default!

any ideas how to fix it?

Folder Options -> file types -> hi-lite 'Folder' -> click 'Advanced -> hi-lite 'open' -> click 'Set
Default'

open is not on the list

You are looking at 'Folder' and not 'File Folder', right?

If it's not there, try the following:

Start -> Run -> regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
