Felix Kasza question on purpose of Pure Networks program

P.S. I tried to send this using the feedback form, but an error message
"Frontpage error" implied to me that it didn't go through.

First, which link from the navigation pane at win32.mvps.org would answer
the following:

1) Since I don't know anything about the purpose of your Pure Networks
Shared/Platform programs, what does it basically do, in layman's terms?

2) Since I did not consciously install these programs, why do I need it and
if it is removed, what benefit will be lost?

3) If you need a bit more information on my computer setup to more fully
answer these questions, please respond.
