Faxing with Broadband

Hi friends
Is there any way of faxinf with an NTL: broadband connection?
If so please could you let me knowhow, either by replying to this message or
to my personal e-mail address, many thanks

Faxing only works with a fax machine or fax\modem in or attached to your
computer. There are some faxing services available on the net that you could
use to fax for you or to use to receive faxes that you could then go
retrieve. But you don't fax over the internet or on broadband in the usual
way.
 
I have a fax modem buit in but i do not use it in order to recieve my
internet connection. I use an external modem supplied by ntl. This is not
a fax modem. Is there any programmes you know of that i can actually send
faxes through via ntl broadband?

It has nothing whatsoever to do with software - there isn't a faxing
application in existence - nor will there ever be - that will allow you to
fax via broadband and, had you searched the group before posting, you would
have known that. You need a modem - and you don't have one. What you're
calling a modem isn't at all - it's an external network card. You don't dial
a number to connect to NTL, do you? The 'modem' isn't capable of recognising
the tone pulses required to send a phone/fax signal. You will need an
analogue modem, connected to a standard phone line. You need to plug a
filter into the phone socket and plug the modem cable into it - that's the
only way you can do it. I will state categorically *YOU CANNOT FAX VIA
BROADBAND/CABLE IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM*.

Don't worry about it. Perdita is the know-nothing nuisance of the newsgroups
who's only good at repeating a few simple-minded rants and sounding like
she's someone in authority.

You'll soon learn to ignore her.
