running winodws xp, and i have installed the fax app. i
do not have a fax machine or fax printer.
i connect via an external dsl modem and have no regular
dial up modem or fax modem. can i fax a file through the
dsl connection? if so, how do i set it up?
thanx in advance...

No, you can't fax through a DSL connection unless you subscribe to a
web-based fax service.

Dial-up modems are cheap. Get one and you'll be able to fax too.

Try this site they offer Free Web Faxing to the fax machine number you

DSL is an entirely different technology and you cannot fax across it
direct to a regular fax machine or fax modem. There are services where
you can send a file and they will transmit it on for you as a fax but I
don't know how effective they are or the cost

If you want to do it a lot, a separate cheap fax modem for the purpose
might pay off
