I understand XP has software already installed for fax sending and receiving.
I can't find any instructions as to how to set it up.

Can anyone point me to the right direction???

Is this good software or should I be looking for other software?

How to enable and configure the Fax service in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306550

It is functional. I use Winfax Pro but this no longer supported by
Symantec and does not work with Vista. Playing with Vista
is how I came to try out Microsoft Fax.

Do you have a fax-capable analog data modem in your computer? Fax
software is only half the equation.

Yeah, right. And all systems these days still include a floppy drive.
Advice from someone with minimal hardware experience, uh huh, and can't
even figure out a moniker for themself.

You following statement is incorrect: "

"all systems these days still include a floppy drive"

You need to specifically ask for it and you pay for this additional extras!! assuming they do it for you.

Right! Most new PCs do not include a floppy drive in their base set
up and may only off a USB floppy as an separate option (if the
manufacturer / PC assembler decides to offer one.) Newer motherboards
are removing the following:

Floppy drive connections
IDE connections
Parallel port
Serial port
PS/2 keyboard / mouse port

And Intel is pushing to replace BIOS.

You missed what he said. The phrasing contains just a touch of sarcasm!
