Somehow I lost the view of my Favorites Folders above my other Folders List and can't retrieve it. My Span Quaranteen goes there, plus Junk Mail, which two sub-folders are now down below in my "other folders lists". I want them back up on top........ How??? Help? I've searched directions everywhere. Directions say you can't delete the favorites folder, but apparently I inadvertently did.

right click on the folder in the other folders list and choose Add to
Favorite Folders... or you can drag and drop them in the Favorite Folders
area.

Hi Diane,
I don't have PoppyJ's problem, but I cant get the favorite views folder to keep it's settings. Everytime I close Outlook and re-open it I have to rebuild the favorite folder. How do you save the contents?

Thanks, Bill

Thanks Diane, but that didn't work. I could rename the xml file ok and it made a new one, but there were no *.fav files and I can't make one.

Find and rename the XML file and any *.FAV files in the folder - look for
them at C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Restart outlook and add some shortcuts. Close
outlook and reopen - is it sticking?

you don't want the fav's file- it's left behind after an upgrade and I
suspect it's the cause of some of the problems with the navigation pane.

I may have confused you with that, there never was a .fav file of any kind under this profile and after I tried what you said, it did not create one. It's not an upgrade, it was a new install of Office 2003 on a new install of XP. Old email was imported as a pst file.
