ich klicke rechts auf einen Folder in meinem "Persönliche Ordner", den ich
selbst angelegt habe. Wähle "add to favorite folders". Der folder ist dann in
dem Fenster "Favorite folders" da. Ich stoppe und starte Outlook (über
"exit"), der Eintrag ist WEG.

Was passiert?

Danke!

My German's rusty (my Dutch and Hungarian are better!) but I think this guy
says he adds a folder to Favourites and when he closes and restarts Outlook
it's no longer there.

Yes. Exactly. Sorry, I assumed this was a german speaking forum. I do create
an entry in the favorite folders, restart outlook, and allmy work is GONE. I
am at the most current update status. Outlook 2003 with Business Manager,
which is inactive, never activated.

Thank you, Judy....

Well now that we have the problem translated - I dunno what the answer is
mate!

The entries are stored in an xml file in C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. It seems to be fragile
for many users, deleting the xml file and the *.FAV (if it exists) may help.

Does BCM ever load?

Diane, all,
no. BCM never did load, not even once on this machine (and on this *pst).
And I do NOT find any *.fav files in my appdata etc. Renamed the xml file
while Outlook was up. Checked in the OLD xml file if my newly added favorite
folder was in there - it was NOT.
Restarted Outlook, added my folder to the favorites, checked the new xml
file - my new folder was there. Stopped Outlook. Checked xml file. My folder
was there. Started outlook. My folder is gone from Favorite Folders. My xml
file does have the entry for my favorite folder, though. Here is an excerpt,
the folder I wanted to add is "accounts":
-------------------------------
</wdLnk>
<wdLnk>
<ltype>normal</ltype>
<reckey>228B0000</reckey>
<eid>0000000053F102E7D37844489088EA9255C6372C228B0000</eid>
<name>accounts</name>
<storeid>19</storeid>
</wdLnk>
-------------------------------------------

All the ones abowe it in the xml file appear, like Unread mail, etc.

Now what? HELP!

Thanks

Michael

Fav is only present if you upgraded and it seems to increase the fragility
for those affected. The XML is not written until outlook closes - does
outlook close properly? get http://www.sunflowerhead.com/software/knockout
and you can easily see if it's closed by just looking at an icon in the
tray.

See if anything at http://www.slipstick.com/bcm/bcmfaq.aspx helps with the
bcm problem.
