I cannot send from Windows Mail as a fault message 0x800ccc0B comes up each
time. I have taken advice and used RegCure but to no avail. Any ideas?

Right-click on the error message, choose Copy and post it here.
PS - don't ever accept "advice" to use a Registry Cleaner - they mostly
cause more problems than they "cure"...

First of all, none of the regular responders here would ever advocate using a
registry cleaner such as RegCure. That type of utility often causes more problems
than it cures.

Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Thank you for that. Please find complete message below. I'll take your avice
on the Regcure issue.

I've had a look on the fitness gaming website - I can't see that they
actually provide an email service.
Do they?

Hi Gordon

Yes they do. The address functioned for 2 days and my colleague has been
using his successfully for over a month now. We have checke dthe settings and
they are the identical. I have tried reming the account and then re entering
the the details. One message was sent and the error came up again.

I appreciate your efforts

Regards

"Unknown error" is usually caused by interference from an
antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

Thanks for that. I seem to have solved the problem. I had 2 accounts on the
computer to differentiate work environments, both with Windows Mail accounts.
By closing one account down and transfering everything to the one area of the
computer and operating the e mail with both addresses on the one mail account
I seem to be sending and receiving as normal.

Thanks for taking the time to try and solve this and hopefully my experience
will be useful to anyone else who has a similar problem

regards

A RegCure window came up on my computer unexpectedly today, and when I hit
the "next" button, it showed that I have about 8 items and 1171 errors that
need to be fixed on my computer. I've never seen this before and am
wondering where it came from and if I should click on "fix"?
I've never used a chat line before before and am not even sure I'm doing
this the right way. I hope someone can help me.

Also Gary, since you appear to be well informed about RegCure, since it shows
so many errors, what should I do to take care of the problems?

Sounds like one of your email accounts got corrupted, probably by your
antivirus.

I know nothing about RegCure specifically, but since it is a member of
the class of programs known as registry cleaners, I am aware of the
general reputation those programs have among savvy tech support
specialists.

If it was my computer, I'd uninstall RegCure. That will stop it from
throwing up needless error messages.
