fatal error on startup

In XP home, since I upgraded from ME I get this error message on start
up....

FATAL ERROR, you must restart your computer.

I didn't receive any error messages during the actual upgrade from ME to XP,
whenever windows starts I get this message.

Any suggestions.

Hi!
What's the exact error?It is always better to go for a
clean install.It reduces the chances of upgradation
problems from win98/ME.
Go for "repair XP"
