Recently I have occasionally been getting the following message on boot up
"Fatal Error Unable to Install Icon Tray"

What is the cause and what can I do to correct this. Running Windows XP Home
fully updated.

Thanks,

Roy

Check your Event Viewer for some hints, especially after a failure. This
might be a developing hardware issue. In BIOS and if the selection is
available, make sure you have S.M.A.R.T. enabled (its purpose is to detect
HDD's that are starting to fail). Is this bootup from a hibernation point?
If so, try disabling hibernation. You might also have bad memory, and
depending on how things load at boot (not always the same!) that bad spot
might contain code that crashes -- try a memory checker.
