I installed a new hard drive which is my primary and my old drive is the
slave. the old drive was a fat 32 with windows xp pro on it. the primary
new drive is windows xp pro.. i get the error message on the old drive that
it is unaccesable file or directory is corrupted or unreadable. can any one
help me access th old drive i have some old files that are important. and
some programs i really like.

Is the drive shown in Disk Management? Has it been assigned a letter? It has
nothing whatsoever to do with the file system. One other point, if the
programs were installed on the other drive, unless you reinstall them on the
new one, they're useless. This means that you would need the original
installation media.
