FAT32 xp took my mp3's i want my i want my mp3's

As loading win xp pro, i watched my entire collection of
mp3's disappear before my eyes, woop into space. the
harddrive that is partioned using fat32 shows it is maxed
with my mp3's yet the files cannot be retrieved it isn't
the same drive letter even and is not fat32 only fat!
can anyone help me?

You upgraded ? (Bad move !) I assume from Me or 98 ? This will not change
the partition format unless you ask it to.

However, unless you formated during the installation, and XP can "see" you
files, as you say (I think, you're not terribly clear there), you can play
them. Double click on them to start WMP.
