I was checking out my Mother's computer today. A Sony PCG-FXA32 Notebook PC
with a 15GB hard drive. She has a drive (C:) which is Fat32...and then there
is a drive (D:) which is NTFS.
Are not both partitions supposed to be the same???
Should I fix this? And how?
Thank You

No. There is NOTHING to fix. In fact, the fact that C: is FAT32 will
make it 10 times
EASIER to fix in the future if there is a REAL problem.

As always Thanks you guys.
Does anyone have a clue as to why they are different or why someone would do
it that way in the first place?

No, there's no reason they have to be, and there's nothing wit the way they
are.

You can convert the FAT32 drive if you want to, but just making the two the
same is _not_ a good reason to do so.

You're welcome. No, it's very different to answer that question. Who set it up and why he made the choices he did aren't apparent from here.
