After using my computer for 3 or 4 hours, I notice it
getting very slow. When I go to task manager and click
on the performance tab, I see that there is very high
commit charge (800-900Mb). When I first start up the
computer it's only around 200Mb. Then, I click on the
processes tab, and notice that two or three instances of
fastfind.exe are running. Plus, the memory usage is very
high (each one is 80-100Mb). If I click on each
fastfind, and end process, the commit charge goes back to
normal. Also, if I restart the computer, everything is
normal. I've run my virus software and Spybot, but
haven't found any problems. I'm using ZoneAlarm for a
firewall to my DSL connection. Any ideas?

Jeff;

Get rid of it.

What is Find Fast?
[[Find Fast is a utility included with Microsoft Office that builds indexes
to speed up finding documents from the Open dialog box in any Microsoft
Office program and from Microsoft Outlook. A Find Fast index consists of
several hidden files that list files, file properties, and file status.
Because you create and maintain index files through the Find Fast utility in
the Control Panel, it's not necessary to work with the index files directly
in Windows Explorer.]]

[[Go into the FindFast icon in the Control Panel and choose the "Index \
Close and Stop" menu option.]]
