I think it also depends on whether it's an XT or not. Often the
recomendation is to have fast writes off, on non-XTs, if you are having
problems with it on. Otherwise leave it on. I'm using an nForce2, 9800 Pro
and have never had a problem with it on.
I agree with previous poster that it is mobo dependent. I have it on for my
9800 pro in my A7N8X deluxe mobo and it has never caused a problem with the
standard ATI drivers or the Omega drivers.
