Theafter collecting and creating a data file on the old computer, I can
browse to the old computer to transfer. When I ask to begin, I get message
"The location that you specified does not contain stored information....."

WHAT GIVES?

Try running FAST on the old computer and check that you have selected to
appropriate files and settings required by youfor this purpose.

Did you not read my post? The data file was constructed. The new computer
cannot identify the .dat file. Is there an English speaking person on this
board that can help???

Where did you save the file that FASTW created?

When I do these transfer I always create a new folder named
C:\Transfer and save the file there. Never have had a problem with
the file not being found.

I've got the same problem on a customers laptop.

Brief history. Auto-update installed XPSP2, laptop would not start. Ran FAST
in safe mode and transferred data to a network file. The FAST completed it's
export with no errors reported. Copied FAST files to a local folder.
Re-installed XP from recovery disk. Now when I use the FAST I get the
specified location does not contain any data error message (there is a 79M
dat file in the folder, and a 1K status file!!) I've tried both the local
folder and the network folder with the same error reported.

Please help since these files are important.

Thanks, Denis.
