I've set up countless XP desktops for people over the last year or so and
have told them all that I would be able to support them via Remote
Assistence, but whenever I try, I can't connect. Both parties are generally
behind Linksys routers with current firmware. I have resorted to setting up
remote desktop instead in most cases, but this is less elegant, especially
with dynamic IPs on their end. Is there a good FAQ out there for
connectivity, especially with routers for remote assistence?

The problem is that the experience changes with each firewall/router
and all of the different firmware revisions. The issue that affects
Remote Assistance the most is the IP addressed used in the invitation.
If the machine is not behind a UPnP aware gateway, then the invitation
will have the private address of the machine. In this case, a hole in
the firewall (forward TCP Port 3389 to the appropriate machine) must
be made and the invitation must be edited to reflect the proper public
ip address.... This is the problem that we have with NAT devices.
Hopefully IPV6 will fix this...

How can I see/edit the invitation?
