When I post a question on Microsoft Newsgroup the
automatic senders e-mail is "anonymous @ discussions.com.
When I do the same on Outlook Espress, (I use it for my E-
mail), and I send it to the newsgroups; I later checked
it on the Microsoft website and my complete email address
was there. Is that dangerous, and shoud I change my e-
mail address in the newsgroup (on Outlook Express0 to a
fake one? I read that somewhere opn thw Microsoft website.

It would be advisable to use a fake email address when
posting on to this website. People look for email
addresses on this website and use them to send spam and
viruses.

Spammers harvest email addresses from, among other sources, newsgroup
postings. You can use a genuine but disposable return address (Hotmail in
my case) or "munge" your existing address. But munge properly:

Hi,

You should change it, or at least disguise it. You may already be too late.
Click tools/options/accounts/news tab, select the newsserver and click
properties. Change the e-mail adddress line on the general tab.
