Fake ip address

I would like to subscribe to a service that requires you be a US
resident and connect from a US based IP address. I meet both of those
requirements but am currently residing in Taiwan. What I would like to
do is mask or fake my ip address so that it appears I am connecting
from a computer in the US.

I actually have a machine back in the US with always on internet
connection running Win 2k that could be used as a proxy or VPN server,
but I'm not sure on how best to configure it to accomplish this
realitively simple task. Most options seem like overkill - I need a
very simple solution for routing just one IP address and masking the
originating IP. Any suggestions?

Thanks

you could always remote into the American pc (using free vnc for example)
then access the site from there?

The problem is that the service streams large amounts of data to your
pc, so VNC wouldn't really work. I'm thinking more like a proxy or NAT
configuration if one of these could do the trick. I'm just not sure
what the best and easiest solution is.

Actually, I just solved it. Used a program called proxy3+ that will
configure a small proxy server for free. I just turned on the anonymous
option and it worked.

Thanks
