When I arrived home, my computer was showing the following on a black screen
We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardare or software change might have caused this
If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files or folders, choose Last Known Good Configuration to restart the most recent settings that worked
If a previous start up attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the power or reset button was pressed, or if you are not sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows normally
Safe Mod
Save Mode with Networkin
Safe Mode with Command Promp
Last Known Good Configuratio
Start Windows normall
**I chose the last two options noted above, but neither one worked. The computer begins start up with the Windows XP Home Edition logo, then the e machines logo, but the next screen is this same message screen. I even turned the computer off, but no luck. I have never seen this screen before and haven't a clue what to do. I am typing this message from a matching computer, with the same Windows XP Home Edition, purchased at the same time..
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions
Shannon
