Actually, the "fix" for this has to do with the Microsoft WIRELESS
KEYBOARD. The receiver unit has a USB connector, plus a PS/2 Style
KEYBOARD connector.
Microsoft documentation says ONLY the USB CONNECTOR needs to be
plugged in.
When you do this, your F-Keys DO NOT WORK.
If you simply shut off your system, then ALSO plug in the PS/2
connector into your KEYBOARD spot on the back of your PC, when you
power back on, your KEYBOARD will be recognized in Device Manager as a
"standard 102-key keyboard" and YOUR F-KEYS WILL WORK.
You'll want to download the f-lock.zip utility to reverse the F-key
F-Lock button, so your F-keys will be "live" following reboot. If you
don't, you'll need to press the F-lock key manually to then enable
your F-keys to work.
HTH.
