F8 key trauma in Setup

I have seen that several others have had this issue of not being able to use the F8 key when doing the XP Install on the user agreeement page...there have been suggestions, but none of the ones I have seen have worked for me...has anyone found a way to resolve this issue? Thanks
 
try turning off num lock & depressing F8 key

Numlock?! What in Hades has Numlock got to do with the function keys?!

So your keyboard doesn't have an F Lock key then?
