I cannot burn any Cd's. It either has error oxcood11ab/ clean disc, try
diferent disc, change speed, or it says there is no Cd in the drive

Locate and click the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider On the
Edit menu, click Permissions . Click the registry key for the user that is
currently logged on and ensure that Read and Full Control are both set to
Allow . Click the Advanced button, ensure that the user that is currently
logged on is selected, that Full Control is listed in the Permissions column,
and that This Key and Subkeys is listed in the Apply to column. Click to
select the Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown
here that apply to child objects check box. Click Apply , and then click Yes
when you receive a prompt to continue. Click OK , and then click OK again

Tried this 2 times without any result. I cannot play or burn on this device
anymore. When I put a Cd in, it tries 3 or 4 times to do something, but
nothing happens. I tried a cleaning disc, restore to an earlier time, etc.
My computer is basically not reconizing any cd inserted into my f drive (my e
drive/playing, works fine) thanks for your info

THIS IS A PROBLEM EXPERIENCED BY MANY. MICROSOFT PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP. MANY
OF US HAVE BACKED UP OUR SYSTEMS ON CD-Rs and will be ANGRY IF WE FIND
NOTHING THERE after installing SP2. THE DVD/CD-RW work fine otherwise.
