Extract Histroy

Each account in my database has 1 record per month. The account stays on the
DB the month it closes and then drops off. I need to look at the last record
for the account, and then "look-back" to the previous record to pull 1 field
of data. Is there a way to accomplish this in a query (not vba)?

Use a subquery to get the value from previous record.
