Hello all,

Is there a possibility to change an external USB harddisk to a removable
disk instead of an local disk?

Thx

No, this is burned into the hardware. It could be changed
by a special driver but I've never seen one.

What benefits do you expect from removable state?

Hello Uwe

A certain application gives me only the opportunity to export images (huge
amount) to a removable media.
f.e. a USB stick is recognized by that application, but I need more space.
I need an external harddisk that is recognized as a removable disk.
Thanks for the reply!

USB hard drives which appear as removable are rare...
The only ones I've seen so far are old Vosonic image
tanks, the 'X-Drive VP2030' and 'X-Drive II VP2060'.
They appear with their three card slots and the internal
hard drive. All as removable.

They are quite slow (about 4 MB/s) and I don't know
if the newer and faster models present their hard drive
as removable too.

Thanks for the feedback!!
