please help as i am new to computering how do i transfer all my details on
my pc to an external harddrive thankyou i n advance steve uk
 
Depends what you mean by 'all my details', and perhaps what you are trying
to achieve.
You can, From My Computer and Explorer either copy or move data but you
cannot simply move/copy programs.

If you want to back up everything, Windows XP and all applications and
files, the easiest option is to use a program such Acronis True Image. Some
external hard drives come with such a backup program or similar.
