external dns can become member of domain ?

Hi
i am having internal and external dns server seperate by
firewall .my external dns server is in workgroup.can i
install external dns server to become part of domain?
we want to install MOM software agent on external dns
which needs machine to be part of domain.There is any
security issue in keeping external dns as member of domain?
 
There's always a risk with joining any system to a domain, as a that system
can be used as a stepping stone into your private network. And this risk is
naturally increased by joining a publicly available system to the domain.
Just weigh the risks.
