extension problem

hi
recently put in a phone extension in my house as i want to use my laptop in
another room , used one of these kits from b&q , problem is , phone works
fine but connection problems and slow games play on laptop any ideas
/suggestions as to what it could be , it is about 20 meters away from the
main connection into the house .

Bryan,

Do you have your other computers using dialup? Dialup is slow enough on its
own, but when you add a game to it, the game will be pretty slow.

Or is this not dialup, but an in house network using the phone lines? Please
provide some more details about your network, so we can help you.

it's a broadband set up and it is just a phone extension in another room ,
no other p.c's just my lap top

OK, Bryan,

So you have broadband. How exactly is the laptop connecting? Is it going thru
broadband, then thru a phone network adapter? Or is it simply using dialup from
the other room? You have to be specific here.
