I am building a new system. It is using a Biostar N325-A7 MB, nForce3 chipset
with an AMD Sempron 64 3300+

Upon trying to boot from teh WinXP CD ROM I get a message that says:

Windows NT has not found enough extended memory. 7MB of extended memory is
reuiqred to run Windows NT. YOu may need to upgrade your computer or run a
configuration program provided by the manufacturer.

Memory Map:
00000000 - 0009F800

This thing has 256MB or DDR400 memory in a single stick. I changed to a
matched pair of 256MB sticks to make 512MB and get teh same messge with the
same memory map. The BOS shows plenty of extended memory.

Power off board, locate the CMOS jumper pin on board, move the pin from the
1-2 position to the 2-3 position for 1.5 -2 minutes,then back to 1-2.Start
com-
puter, you'll need to reconfigure the BIOS settings before it'll run..Oh yeah,
remove the battery before you place in 2-3,then back to 1-2,install
battery,start
computer. This clears the BIOS,actually before running any new board this
must be done 1st...

I SWEAR I did this more than once. OK, maybe I didn't take the battery out. :)

But it seems to have gotten it working. THANKS.

I did have all sorts of trboule getting it booting at first, but whatever,
maybe it just wants me to wait. :)
