Hi,

I have MS Access 2002 installed on XP Pro computer, when I export a table to
a file (let's say dBase .dbf), if I name the file Filename3321.dbf, on the
server or local the name will be Filename.dbf

I need to be very carefull not to sometime overwrite the wrong file.

It does that on two computers here, and everybody (34) has the same version.

Is there other software that could overwrite some Access dependant files...?

Access supports the use of dBase files, but the eight-byte name
limitation is NOT from Access - it's from dBase.

I wouldn't call dBase files "Access dependent". If you choose to use
them, you must be aware with, and put up with, their limitations.
