Exporting Outlook Express 6.0 Address Book As csv (As Text Option)

I'm trying to export a users address book from Outlook Express 6.0 and import
into Outlook XP. I've tried exporting it as a .wab file, but nothing gets
imported. KB articles suggest exporting it as text, but that option doesn't
seem to exist in Express 6.0. I only see .wab or .vcf files.

Also, woudl the fact that I'm not logged into a session of Outlook with the
above users credentials affect why 0 contacts are imported from the .wab file?

COnfigure both Outlook adn OE on the same machine, then, in Outlook click
FIle>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail and Addresses>Next. Select
Outlook Express, uncheck everything but "Import Address Book", click Next,
select the duplicate handling, adn click Finish.

Perfect!

Brian,

I am having similar issues, but it goes deeper. I set up sub-folders for my
addresses. The import function only imported the main folder, not any of the
subfolders or my distribution lists. Will I have to move all the addresses
to the main folder, do the import, and then move everything back to their
folders or groups?

Thanks.

What I'd do is to move the top-level contacts in OE to a different folder,
move the subfolder contents to the top level, do the transfer to OL, and
repeat for each subfolder. Use categories on the OL side to collect related
contacts.

Thanks Brian - Great thought process.
