Hi All,

I'd like to save all my outlook email to a unicode file (there's unicode
characters in my email).

I have Outlook 2003 and I have my mail in the newest .pst format, but
whenever I export I get ??? where Unicode characters should be.

If I save an email directly, it converts the Unicode characters to their
ASCII escape values, but I'm looking to get pure unicode files.

Is there a method of doing this through Outlook?
Maybe there's a utility somebody wrote somewhere?
If not, could someone give me a tip on which automation objects to use in
writing the utility myself?

What format are you exporting to?

Using "File->Import/Export->Export To A File" I've tried exporting to:
Comma Separated Values (DOS)
Comma Separated Values (Windows)
Tab Separated Values (DOS)
Tab Separated Values (Windows)

I've also tried "File->Save As->Text Only".

I can't get any of them to produce an actual Unicode file.
Maybe there's an option in the settings somewhere?

I'm hoping it's straightforward since I'm planning on saving hundreds of
emails to text files.

AFAIK, Outlook will use Unicode for the export only if you are exporting to
a Unicode format .pst file.

Ok thanks,
I guess I'll have to find a utility or roll my own then.
