Hi!

This has to be a classic and reincurring subject. I see it alot at customers
and it's a real problem. I have searched google and MS KB many times and I
can't find an answer:

How do I export this from Outlook 2003:
Address book
Inbox content, Calendar etc etc
All personal folders
Signature
Accounts

I don't care if I have to do it the hard way with hacks and regedit as long
as its possible.

AND I CANT UNDERSTAND... why MS decided to remove the ability to export this
from Outlook in the 2003 version. What a HUGE mistake and an UGLY thing to
do to us poor technicians who has to support this stuff at our customers.

Also... is this an official MS newsgroup? If not, are there any and whats
the name? Is this the best newsgroup for Outlook 2003?

Thanks!!

Best wishes,

Any of the posts you read will tell you first off that Exporting is never
the best way to transfer Outlook data.
You copy and reuse or open your Outlook Data file.
It is necessary you specify which versions of Outlook need to access your
data.
Mail account settings cannot be backed up.
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:

http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm

Outlook 2003 supports exporting - without knowing more information about
your setup, it's hard to say what is wrong and why your copy doesn't
support export - but as russ says, export is bad, copy is good.

All of this information is in the PST. See

Signature

I'm not sure about this one, but the Save My Settings wizard may be able to
handle this. The files are in %AppData%\Microsoft\Signatures

This data is kept in the registry and the Save My Settings wizard should be
able to handle it.
