For a variety of some very strange reasons, I'm forced to change my login
ID -- and the do I use on this Windows XP sustem. I have a bunch of Outlook
Express their incoming mail. How can I export those rules from User A
import to User B? I really don't want to have to manually enter these 20
rules!

Thanks.

One of the Outlook Express newsgroups would probably be able to answer this
better, but as far as I know, there is no way to export and import filter
rules in OE.

Moving the rules and will require going into the Registry.

Log in to the old user.
Start the Registry editor.
Navigate to this key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{long string of numbers and letters}
\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Rules]

Left click on Rules.
File, Export
Name the export oldrules.reg.

Log in to the new user.
Start the Registry editor.
Navigate to this key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{long string of numbers and letters}
\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Rules]
Left click on Rules.
File, Export
Name the export newrules.reg.

Open Notepad.
File, Open
Open oldrules.reg

Open another Notepad.
File, Open
Open newrules.reg

Oldrules.reg will have the rules.
The newrules.reg will have the correct location for the new Identity's
rules.

Go to the Notepad with newrules.reg.
Highlight and copy
{long string of numbers and letters}

Go to the Notepad with oldrules.reg.
Edit, Replace
Paste {long string of numbers and letters} in the replace with box.
Highlight and copy {long string of numbers and letters} from oldrules.reg
Paste {long string of numbers and letters} in the Find what box.
OK
File, Save

Import oldrules.reg into the Registry.
