Exporting Distribution List

I have a Distribution List with about 500 email addresses in it in Outlook
2003 and I was wondering if it would be possible to export those addresses
into an Access table (or even an Excel spreadsheet)?

Thanks for any help,

Gavin

Hi Sue,
Thanks for your reply but I don't know how to do this. If I open my Address
Book I can then click on my Distribution List but the File menu only gives
me these options:

New Entry
New Message
Add to Contacts
Delete
Properties
Close

Alternatively if I double click on the Distribution List it opens the
Properties dialogue box for that list. There is no File menu and so
therefore I can't follow the steps you have suggested, i.e. select Save As
and save as text file.

You're starting in the wrong place. Go to your Contacts folder. Open the
distribution list from there. Click File, Save As File. Choose text as the
file type.

Hi Sue,
I tried this today and am still having problems.

This time I did get the option to "Save As" and I chose text as the file
type. I clicked save and what I got was a .txt file with this in it:

Distribution List Name: "Name of list"

Members:

ON Your Desktop

Just that (except that "Name of list" was really the name of the
Distribution List.

What am I doing wrong now? I really need to get this to work so more
suggestions would be appreciated!

Regards,

Gavin

You're on the right track. I have no explanation why it wouldn't include the
full member information, unless the DL itself is damaged.

The List seems to work OK - I send out emails to it on a fortnightly basis.
I can add and delete names from it OK too. Thanks for your efforts, Sue. If
anything else occurs to you I would be very grateful if you'd let me know!

Regards,

Gavin
