Exported registry vs System State.bkf?

My full exported registry is 70mb, but the System State.bkf is 400mb! This
is great, I suppose, but I'd really like an explanation of what added
files/features one gets with backup of system state. The MSKB sites explain
how to use it, but nothing on what you are getting. Adding a few bootup files
does not explain the extra 330mb! What exactly is on the system state.bkf
backup?

Search using Google!
http://www.google.com/
(How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )

Things that I found performing your Google search that may be of interest to
you:

http://www.jsifaq.com/subf/tip2500/rh2500.htm
http://www.datamills.com/Tutorials/systemstate/glossary.htm
and
http://www.theeldergeek.com/windows_xp_registry.htm

Which states:
"Backing up the System State includes the registry, the COM+ Class
Registration Database, and boot files."

The last article is also very descriptive on many ways of backing up the
system.. Good read.

Thank you. I actually read most of these and did considerable google searches
and MSKB searches. Perhaps my question has no clear answer, but repeating
the basic: how can the system state.bkf become over five times the size of
the entire registry?

I don't see how bootfiles and com class reg db can possibly be 350mb.

I'm quite happy using the system state backup as it's saved my bacon twice!
Thrilled with it! I just want to understand it.
