Hi,

I am using Outlook 97, I want to export the Contact folder and then import
to my laptop's Outlook 2002.

How to do it.

Thanks
Jimmy

File | Import and Export | export to file - export in .PST format. Transfer
it, ensure it is not set to read-only, open it via File | Open .... copy the
items to your Outlook 2003 Contacts folder.

Avoid exporting/importing PSTs like the plague. Just copy the PST to the
other machine and open in that Outlook.

But I only need the Contact information

Create a new PST (File>New>Personal Folders File). Now, right-click
Contacts and choose Copy. Select the new PST as your destination. When the
copy completes, right-click the PST root and choose Close. Close Outlook.
COpy the new PST to the other machine and open it in Outlook there with
FIle>Open>Outlook Data File. Open the Contacts folder it contains, select
all the items, right-click the selection and choose Copy. SPecify your
current Contacts folder as the destination.
