Explorer & IE6.0 error after windows update

After installing the windows update for the blaster worm,
IE6.0 and windows explorer keep shutting down. Utilities
such as search are also affected.

The following error message is generated. It does not throw
up anything on the Microsoft site.

Error Signature

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2600.0 ModName: ftapp.dll
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 000045ff

I have tried to restore the system, reinstalled IE 6.0 and
had no success. Reluctant to reinstall XP.

Anyone else having problems? Anyone have an answer?
