Explorer hangs

After having installed the latest XP Pro patches I am
having trouble with the Explorer. It hangs when I right
click on any file or drive. The same thing happens when I
mark files and try to delete them. (Deleting from the
command line still works.) The same problem shows up when
I right click on the Recycle Bin on the desktop. (It
doesn't matter whether I am logged in as administrator or
regular user.) Has anybody made the same observation? Any
idea what could be going on?
