Whenever I open an explorer window the folders pane is displayed. (the tree
view on the left) I have to hit the "Folders" button on the toolbar to make
it go away and then the "links to common tasks" pane is displayed. How do I
change the default so it they will initially come up with the "links" pane
displayed??

Hi Brad,

Change the commandline parameters for the "Explorer" shortcut to "explorer
/n, C:"
This opens C: (My computer view)

Have Windows Explorer Default to the %SystemRoot% Drive When Started:

.
Go to Tools > Folder Options and select 'Show common
tasks'.
